Overview of the Youth Empowerment Services (YES) Waiver
The YES (Youth Empowerment Services) Waiver is a Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Waiver that allows for more flexibility in the funding of intensive community-based services to assist children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances to live in the community with their families. Waiver services are provided in combination with services available through the Medicaid State Plan, other federal, state, and local programs the individual may quality for, and the natural supports that families and communities provide.
This web-based training is intended to provide participants with a broad overview of the YES waiver (1915c). It is part of the training and technical assistance activities associated with the Achieving Successful Systems Enriching (ASSET) expansion grant. ASSET is focused on improving outcomes for children and youth with complex mental health needs and their families. The intended audience for this webinar includes anyone involved with children or youth programs or services interested in learning about the YES waiver and how it may be is used as part of a continuum of care for family and youth in a system of care framework.
