Holly Gursslin Beseda serves as a Child Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator for the South Southwest MHTTC, with a focus on children and youth mental health needs across Region 6. She joined the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health (TIEMH) in 2016 and continues to appreciate the motivating atmosphere created by dedicated colleagues working to improve the lives of others.
Holly earned a Master’s in Counseling Guidance and Education from the University of Hawaii at Mañoa and has over 12 years of experience in the mental health field. Her background includes work in direct therapy, academia, and non-governmental settings, all aimed at supporting child and youth mental health. Her research interests and training have taken her from New York to Hawaii, Europe, rural North Carolina, and finally to Texas. Her professional interests also encompass mental health service systems for children and families, early childhood development and neuroscience, strategic planning, and facilitating connection. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Clinical Supervisor (LPC-S) and volunteers for a local state infant mental health association chapter, contributing to workforce elevation through quality professional development. Holly is a lifelong learner who seeks to integrate a trauma-informed, equity-focused approach in her work and relationships.
