Erin Luby

Research Assistant

Erin is a Social Science/Humanities Research Associate. She is continuing her work with TIEMH, having spent the last year working as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Diversion Technical Assistance team. Erin graduated with dual Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Affairs from UT Austin in May 2024, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Colorado College. Prior to graduate school, Erin worked as a middle school math teacher before pivoting to social work. She worked at LifeWorks Austin for three years serving youth experiencing homelessness, first as a case manager and later as a Program Services Coordinator for the Rapid Rehousing team. Throughout her time in graduate school, Erin took an interest in research as a means for creating change in the intersection between social work and policy. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge and skillsets surrounding evidence-based research through this new role. In her free time, Erin is an avid reader who loves the outdoors and spending time with her puppy, Spider.
