Brianne LaPelusa, MFA, is a writer and researcher with several years of experience in community mental health and collaborative research. Bri’s work focuses on peer support, workforce development and early psychosis and young adult mental health programs. She specializes in knowledge translation and visual storytelling, designing accessible tools, trainings, and learning spaces grounded in lived experience (The Chicago Youth Innovation Hub). Brianne has led and supported collaborative initiatives and workforce development efforts with peer providers nationwide, including leading Skills for Expanding Expertise in Peer Support (SEEPS) and co-leading the Youth & Young Adult Peer Advisory Board at Thresholds, Illinois’s largest mental health provider. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and practice-oriented publications, and she has presented at national and international conferences. She holds an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago and a BA from the University of Iowa. Bri lives in Chicago and enjoys making music and exploring all forms of art.
