Annie Smith (she/her) is a PhD candidate with the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University in Australia. She holds a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice (First Class Honours) and has a passion for research focused on intimate partner abuse and human trafficking. Annie previously worked as a Probation and Parole Officer across several offices in South-East Queensland, including a period acting as a Court Prosecutor for Queensland Corrective Services. Since then, and while completing her PhD, she has worked as a researcher for several Australian universities. Annie has two beautiful, nearly grown daughters and loves travel adventures with her husband.
