Amanda Ryan

Research Associate

Dr. Amanda L. Ryan (she/her) is a researcher and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) serving as a Research Associate at TIEMH. She completed her PhD in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington with a focus on comorbid physical and serious mental illness, and health equity. She currently works on the Advancing Early Psychosis Intervention Network in Texas (EPINET-TX) project.

With a clinical background focused on emergency crisis mental illness, Dr. Ryan has specialized in working with individuals with SMI and other underserved populations. Her clinical background includes nearly 13 years of work experience with Nephrology and Dialysis patients, Oncology, Medical and Surgical, and Emergency Room social work, in three different hospitals spanning from Central Texas to East Texas. Dr. Ryan is committed to research, training, and clinical expertise in SMI, and strives to create meaningful change in mental health services and policies, ensuring individuals receive the recovery-oriented care they need and deserve.
