This policy paper explores the unique challenges faced by transition-age youth (with mental health conditions as they enter adulthood, as well as the obstacles behavioral health systems face in supporting them.
SAMHSA awarded a grant to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to improve youth substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment services. Through the Alliance for Adolescent Recovery and Treatment in Texas and support from the Behavioral Health Advisory Committee, strategic plans and initiatives were developed to enhance statewide behavioral health systems.
