This policy paper explores the unique challenges faced by transition-age youth (16–25) with mental health conditions as they enter adulthood, as well as the obstacles behavioral health systems face in supporting them. It examines public mental health services, reviews national best practices, and offers recommendations to enhance Texas’ system using emerging research-based practices.
