TIEMH Employee Spotlight: Harriet van Loggerenberg

As part of our monthly series, we’ll introduce team members from the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health (TIEMH). You’ll learn more about their interests, the projects they work on at TIEMH, and more.

This month, the spotlight is on Harriet van Loggerenberg. Harriet is a program manager who works on the Diversion Technical Assistance Grant. The grant recently launched a housing-focused Learning Community (LC) with 12 teams representing counties across Texas. The LC aims to support teams working to improve housing access for people involved in the justice system and living with mental illness, substance use disorders, or intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Previously, Harriet coordinated cancer clinical trials and implemented behavioral health intervention programming. She is most passionate about working with teams driven to achieve outcomes that have real-world implications for important research. Outside of work, as a South African native, she grew up in and around the wine industry and has an equally deep passion for working in vineyards and winemaking.
