Trends and Outcomes in Utilization of Medicaid Peer Support and Peer Provided Services in Texas Fiscal Year 2024

Past UT-TIEMH reports on the peer support Medicaid benefit have focused on trends in peer support
utilization related to major events (i.e., date the benefit went into effect, COVID-19, increase in the rate)
along with trends in utilization by different LMHA/LBHAs and comparisons of peer specialist encounter
types (i.e., in-person, telephone, telehealth) to other providers during the pandemic.

This report continues to exam these trends in utilization but adds additional analysis to examine the impact of peer support on individuals served as well as Peer Specialist employment and turnover over time.
